Netbooks? Really?

Several months ago I bought an MSI Wind, thinking it could serve as my second computer. My first computer, the Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.2 (white plastic) that I'm writing this on now, had been taking a beating from daily rides to and from my office in my bicycle saddle bag - I mean, pannier - and after several trips to the Apple Store for repairs I decided the poor thing needed a break from the potholes of Oakland/Berkeley roads.

Twitter-A-Diction

So I'm entirely addicted to twitter now. Using tweetdeck on my Mac and tweetie on my iPhone. Tried using skyfire on the Windows Mobile Palm Treo Pro and it did well to follow other people's streams but I haven't yet wrangled it into tweeting with ease.

Can you tell by the way I just used "tweeting" and "streams" in sentences that I'm totally screwed here? Addict city.

fb held another presser Wednesday to announce another round of home page changes and such. The most buzz-worthy thing they announced was more or less a response to twitter having rebuffed their recent $500 Million takeover offer:

"The new home page will let you see everything that's shared by your friends and connections as it happens," fb CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote. "It will also provide you more control by letting you choose exactly who you see among the people and things you are connected to."

No. Such. Thing.

It's been raining here in Oaktown for the better part of what feels like nine years. Really I think it's been about a week or two. It's great - we desperately need the rain. But after awhile the rain will get you down. Gets me down, anyway.

So at the end of the day yesterday, after not having made it into my office yet again, instead camping out at the dining room table, avoiding the gym, and calling my 8 am dentist appointment "my outing for the day," I posted a facebook/twitter update: Too much time online today.

The first response? "No. Such. Thing."
